I hadn’t planned to talk about trauma, but it feels so right that this came up today. As we close out our conversations about mental health this month (though, of course, they will continue beyond May!) it feels so fitting that we talk about trauma. Trauma has been a real teacher for me, both in my personal life and in my professional life. And I think it’s so massively misunderstood in our wider culture. I hope that today’s episode will give you a sense of the truly beautiful way that our bodies & minds work to protect us from extreme pain, and that it may give you some insights and new tools to support yourself or others in your life who have been touched by trauma.
The book I mentioned in the episode is: In an Unspoken Voice: How the Body Releases Trauma and Restores Goodness.
