Grief is one of the emotions that’s most resisted in modern Western culture. Employers pressure us to come back to work ASAP after the death of a parent or the loss of a pregnancy, and we may feel similar pressure from friends, loved ones, and ourselves to “get over it” when we experience a loss.
That is, if we allow ourselves to even experience the loss in the first place. So many of my clients seem to be carrying around heavy loads of things that they’re holding onto for dear life lest they give into the urge to simply let go of something that once was precious to them. I’ve been there, too.
Today’s episode will gently explore this sacred territory of grief, and the release that’s possible when you allow yourself to let go.
